You may not be familiar with Mizuna, it is a brassica which means it is related to Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli etc. yet it has flavour and texture of its own. It has a mild flavour and a crunchy juicy texture. Mizuna is hardy with feathery leaves and makes a good substitute for lettuce in the cooler months. Mizuna can also be added to many dishes such as stir fries, risottos, and recipes that call for cabbage or mustard greens. Be sure to remember Mizuna cooks very quickly so add near the end of cooking or adding after taking off the heat may be sufficient especially for the leaves without the stalks.
Mizuna is a good source of beta-carotene, vitamin C, folate and iron.
We are a small family run Market Garden providing a variety of seasonal vegetables. We are Spray Free and try to grow as naturally as we are able. Our goal is to provide fresh tasty vegetables at a reasonable price.
We pick, rinse and pack our veggies as close as possible to delivery times in order to retain the freshness to your door.
We hope you will try some of the less common vegetables we have available and experience the different tastes and textures that are available.
